From the sprawling metropolis of Mexico City, out west to the Golden Coast of California and up north to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, North America’s landscape is as diverse as its history and heritage. It might be the northern portion of the New World, but it’s home to a myriad of indigenous people—from Panama up through the U.S. and Canada—who inhabited its lands long before Europeans came. But this cultural melting pot makes the countryside and massive cities of North America unique. It’s like you find a little bit of each continent within the confines of one continent, something that’s apparent by the numerous cultural festivals found throughout the United States in cities big and small. Festivals in North America are also known for boasting some of the best live music and art in the world. Festivals such as Lollapalooza in Chicago and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, are but a few examples.
